Sometimes I seek
Sugarcoated compliments.
Some which make me
Smile, and others that make me
Sigh, knowing it's just empty words,
Some, if not all, untrue.

Sometimes I seek
Sincere, unconditional love.
Seemingly real and true,
Sometimes not, but I
Surrender to it all the same.

Sometimes I seek
Some form of acceptance.
So that I fit it, like a
Square peg in a round hole,
Sometimes hoping,
Someone will like me for who I am,
So that I don't have to pretend to be
Someone else, in someone else's shoes.

Sometimes I seek
Solitary moments.
So that I can be alone with my thoughts,
So that I would have space.
So no one would care what I did,
So I can go insane if I want to.

Sometimes I seek
Superficial authority.
Sterness, so that I can try to
Shape myself, but knowing I don't have to
Succumb, but knowing I will
Sway, give in.

Sometimes I seek
Supportive friends.
So that I don't have to be so independant,
So I don't have to worry if
Something should happen to me.
Sometimes I think having someone to depend on
Should make a world of difference,
Something I wouldn't know, I haven't tasted.

Sometimes I seek
Selfless attention.
Something to restore my
Shattered confidence,
Splintered self esteem,
So that I can just walk with a
Spring in my step, do things without being
So damn unsure.
Say things without seeking a
Second opinion, a reassuring nod,

Sometimes I just want to be myself,
